It was previously expected that Honor might release its Honor 80 series in the upcoming Honor Magic Vs launch event. But it was something that was much unlikely to happen. However, Honor has surprised everyone by recently announcing the launch date of its all-new Honor 80 series.
This morning, Honor (on Weibo) officially announced that the all-new Honor 80 series would be released on November 23 at 2:30 PM (Chinese Timing). In the official announcement, the device’s important information and first appearance can be observed.
In the official poster’s footnote, the entire lineup of CPUs is mentioned. It is noted that the standard Honor 80 will debut with Snapdragon 782G chipset, while rumors were stating that it might be powered by Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset. The Snapdragon 782G is the new generation chipset of the Snapdragon 77x series.
The Pro model will be powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset. However, the interesting thing we observed is that its highest frequency is limited to 3.0GHz only, while its actual highest frequency is 3.2GHz.
It is also reported that there would be a pill-shaped cutout display on the front, while on the backside, there is a camera module designed to denote the number 8 and echo the Honor 80 naming. The camera module consists of a total of three lenses; two lenses are placed in the first circle, while the third one is in the second circle, along with an LED flash.
In total, there would be three models in the Honor 80 lineup, including the Honor 80 SE, Honor 80 standard, and Honor 80 Pro version. The Honor 80 SE is expected to be powered by Mediatek 1080 chipset.
The all-new Honor 80 series will be launched along with Honor Magic Vs on November 23 in an official launch event.
