At MWC 2023, where various companies are showcasing all the new and upcoming technologies, Lenovo also hasn’t remained far behind. The company has recently launched the second generation of its ThinkPad Z13 and Z16 models, now powered by the latest Ryzen 7000 series from AMD.
Starting from the pricing, the base model Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 Gen2 will go for sale in July 2023 with a starting price of $1,249, while the higher model ThinkPad Z16 will be available for purchase in August 2023 with a base price of $1,749.
Regarding CPU, the second generation of Lenovo’s ThinkPad Z13 series is powered by the latest Ryzen 7000 series. Lenovo hasn’t specified which processor will be used. However, it is revealed that the base model (ThinkPad Z13 Gen2) will use Integrated Radeon GPU while the ThinkPad Z16 Gen2 will also have an AMD Radeon 6550 GPU option.
The starter model ThinkPad Z13 Gen2 comes with a 13-inch OLED Display with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and two screen resolution options: Full-HD+ (1920*1200p) and 2K+ (2880*1800p). The Z16 Gen2 features a larger 16-inches OLED Display with the same aspect ratio but with a higher 4K+ (3840*2400p) resolution and an option for a touch screen (depending on the buyer’s decision).
In terms of storage, both models come with an option of having RAM up to 64 Gigs and 2TB of SSD Storage.
The new ThinkPad Z13 Gen2 and Z16 Gen2 models also have some essential highlights, including the support of Wi-Fi 6E, having a 1080p webcam, and a Dolby Voice Microphone. But another thing that the company highlighted the most is its “linen weave” material which the company introduced, especially for the new Z-Series; it covers the top cover, which is made of 75% recycled aluminum.
As per reports, this new material (on Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 Gen2 models) will keep many features that “make it different from traditional ThinkPads,” such as the tactile touchpad and TrackPoint shortcut menu. Further, it would provide a better feel and look.
